A man has been charged following an incident at a post office in Carlow town last Friday (21 January).
A body was taken into a post office in the town, propped up by two men in what appeared to be an attempt to collect the deceased man's pension.
Two men in their 30s were arrested on Wednesday (26 January) in connection with the incidents, but one was released from custody, and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The other was charged as part of the investigation, and is scheduled to appear before Carlow District Court on Thursday morning (27 January).
A post mortem of the deceased has been concluded. Post mortem results are not released due to operational reasons.
The focus of Garda enquiries is now on the events that took place at the business premises connected to the death of the man.
