A man is alleged to have raped a woman before kidnapping her four-year-old daughter and raping her too.
According to authorities, a 37-year-old man followed the woman to her South Carolina home before he allegedly raped her.
The New York Times reports that police investigators say that she was badly beaten with “her head slammed into a hardwood floor”.
The woman was not known to him previously and it’s thought that she had just dropped two of her other children at school.
There are reports that he held her at knife-point before escaping with her daughter,
He is thought to have driven the child across three southern states and authorities rescued her in Alabama.
According to ABC News, he is now facing a number of charges including rape, kidnapping and child sexual abuse.
He is expected to reappear in court on March 27.
