Met Éireann have issued a new weather warning for 8 counties

A new weather warning has been issued for eight counties as a cold front is set to arrive in Ireland. Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford are going to be affected by the status yellow rainfall warning. The caution was issued for Thursday, April 5, at 2pm and the warning will last for a full 24 hours. Met Éireann are forecasting that over a 24 hour period, some of the areas will see between 30mm to 50mm of rainfall - with a risk of flooding, as well. The forecast will see temperatures drop to as low as -4C in some parts of the country on Wednesday night, with frost and icy patches developing. Thursday morning will start off dry and bright with sunny spells and the frost gradually clearing. As the afternoon goes on, rain will develop in the southwest and will move across Munster and Connacht in the evening. The temperatures during the day will reach highs of 9C or 10C, before reaching as low was 3C in some areas overnight. According to the forecasters, the wet and windy weather will gradually move up from the southwest on Thursday night - and parts of the east and northeast may be able to escape until later. As for Friday, Met Éireann added:

"Further spells of wet and windy weather into Friday with spot flooding. "The rain will break up into sunny spells and showers into the afternoon, gradually clearing away northwards. "Winds will ease off later too, veering south to southwest in direction."
