Met Éireann says that Ireland is going to be warmer than Italy this weekend

Olivia Hayes

We can’t wait for a bit of nice weather.

This month has been rather mild, and while we’re not complaining, we would rather it be a tad bit warmer than it is right now.

If you’re getting up to much over the weekend though, you’ll be glad to know that Ireland is going to be warmer than some parts of Italy on Saturday and Sunday.

On Friday, “some light rain or drizzle at times but a good deal of dry weather too. Highs of 12 to 15 degrees,” Met Éireann say, while Saturday will see “occasional light rain or drizzle but often dry. Highs of 12 to 14 degrees” and “southerly breezes.”

And for Sunday? Well, it will be dry with “broken sunshine,” and highs of up to 14 degrees.

Places in Italy such as Rome, Athens and Milan are currently only reaching around 11 degrees at most, so soak up the Irish sunshine while you can.

Meawhile, if you’re more interested in the weather today, the weather forecaster says that we’ll see a little bit of rain with some mild breezes.

“Cloudy and misty this morning with scattered outbreaks of rain or drizzle, persistent rain for a while over South Leinster. Brighter conditions with some sunshine will develop in the afternoon with many parts becoming dry. Mild and breezy with fresh southerly winds and highs of 11 to 14 degrees, though winds moderating a bit through the afternoon.”
