Met Éireann say that we’re going to get absolutely lashed out of it today

Olivia Hayes

It’s not looking too good.

We had one wonderful day (hour) of snow on Sunday and the whole country couldn’t quite believe it as it came from absolutely nowhere.

However, since then it’s been a bit all over the place, with the snow turning to slush and rain washing over the country.

Well, today isn’t going to be much different, with heavy rain washing down over the whole country.

Met Éireann said: “Mostly cloudy this morning with showery rain, heavy in places, especially in Ulster. Some dry intervals in the east and southeast. Bright spells and scattered showers following from the west this afternoon and evening, but rain continuing in Ulster and north Leinster.

“Highest temperatures of 4 degrees in Ulster to 10 degrees in the south with mostly fresh, gusty northwest winds, strong in the northwest.”

And for tonight we’re going to see: “Tonight will be blustery or windy. Rain will continue in north Ulster and will clear eastwards later in the night. Clear spells and scattered showers for most areas, heaviest and most frequent in the west and north. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees with fresh, gusty west to northwest winds, strong on coasts”

Bring a brolly, folks.
