On Friday, Michaella McCollum Connolly was released from prison after serving a third of her prison sentence for smuggling cocaine.
New legislation introduced in Peru allowed for the early release and tonight, Michaella’s first interview since leaving jail will be broadcast on RTÉ.
The Tyrone native will sit down and explain the chain of events from her perspective detailing her arrest, imprisonment and release.
At present, Michaella remains in Peru and an upcoming judicial hearing will determine if she can return home or stay in the country for an extended period.
Her interview will be broadcast on RTÉ One, this evening Sunday April 3rd, at 9:30 pm.
