A pregnant woman who went missing last week has been found dead in a river.

Savanna LaFontaine-Greywind was eight-months pregnant when was reported missing in Fargo.

She was last seen inside an apartment building in the north of the city. She was visiting Brooke Lynn Crews and William Henry Hoehn for a “sewing project.”

On Sunday evening, LaFontaine-Greywind was found by a group of kayakers on the Red River. Her body was wrapped in plastic.

Soon after LaFontaine-Greywind was reported missing, Fargo police located a newborn baby in the apartment of Crews and Hoehn.

The pair were arrested and police are trying to determine whether the baby belongs to the missing woman.

Inforum has reported that LaFontaine-Greywind was found on Sunday evening by kayakers who saw a “body-sized object wrapped in plastic in the river.”

In a press conference, police chief David Todd said: “There are some suspicious items in that farmstead that lead us to believe that that may be a crime scene.”

A cause of death has yet to be confirmed.
