She is survived by her husband Ross and three children Tadhg, Ciannait and Fionn.
A native of Tirkeenan in Monaghan, Ms De Hoed attended Trinity College in the 1980s before emigrating to New Zealand.
A death notice in the The New Zealand Herald said that Ms De Hoed died "doing what she loved" and that she would be "sorely missed".
Tributes have been paid to Ms De Hoed on social media, where she was described as "a larger-than-life character, a one-off."
She will be laid to rest in New Zealand on Wednesday while a memorial service in Ireland is scheduled for April 2019.Explore more on these topics:
