Some of these images are quite distressing.

We’ve heard of maternal instincts kicking in but this is certainly an extreme case of that. Chelsi Camp was forced to bite the ear off a pit-bull dog in an attempt to save the life of her daughter, Mackenzie.

According to the Daily Mail, the mother spoke about how she was shoved her fists into the dogs mouth while wrestling her away from her daughter in an apartment in Alvin, Texas.

Following the incident, two-year-old Mackenzie Camp was left with severe head and facial injuries. Camp herself suffered injuries to her arms and hands and is currently recovering with her daughter.

Camp called the police and when they arrived, they found the pair hiding in the bathroom from the dog. The animal was shot and later euthanized. The police confirmed that the dog was still attacking the girl when they arrived at the scene.

Chelsi described how the normally friendly dog turned on the toddler: ‘The dog came up and he was just curious. When he smelled her, that’s when you saw it flip because I think he smelled my dog on her.”

The Daily Mail reports that the attack was so vicious, that when the emergency services arrived, they claimed what they saw will haunt them forever.
