Absolutely unacceptable.

A Dublin teenager was left stranded by public transport twice in one day due to the lack of provision for those with a disability.

Aideen Horan from Dublin was heading to college on Wednesday 6 August and decided to go to her nearest DART station to take the train.

However, there was nobody in the station to help her board with her wheelchair so she was forced to let the train leave without her and head to a nearby bus stop for alternative transport.

After waiting for 16 minutes,  she was met with further humiliation and posted this harrowing account to her Facebook page.

The message has since gone viral on Twitter and Facebook.

When contacted by Her.ie, a spokesperson for Dublin Bus said that the matter was “under investigation” and the company was “dealing directly with the family”. Irish Rail has not made any response as of yet.
