Olympic gold medal winner Mo Farah was rushed to hospital today after collapsing at the finish line of a race in New York.
The popular athlete had shown signs that he was struggling earlier in the event, having fallen at the six mile mark, but continued on to place second in the half-marathon race. The Daily Mail is reporting that Farah collapsed shortly after finishing the run and lost consciousness temporarily before being rushed to hospital.
When interviewed on completing the course, Farah said his condition was “not a big deal” and put it down to freezing conditions and the exertion used in his performance.
Concerns have now been raised about his upcoming appearance in the London Marathon but the star took to Twitter this afternoon to allay any fears about his health.
Hi guys..I’m doing ok..thanks for the concern.. disappointed with today.. I gave 110%.. couldn’t do any more… sorry guys….
