One Austrian teenager is taking drastic measures against her parents for posting embarrassing photos online

This sounds pretty extreme...

When it comes to finding unflattering photos of yourself online, unfortunately there’s not much that can be done.

You can message the poster of the photos incessantly to ask them to remove them or report them on Facebook, but you still need the consent of the person posting to actually get rid of them. It’s a real nuisance.

One 18-year-old woman in Austria had such a problem with the photos her parents had posted of her as a child that she is reportedly suing them… That’s certainly one way to deal with them.

According to The Irish Times, an unknown teenager from Carinthia is suing her parents for posting up to 500 pictures of her as a child on Facebook, which she had no idea of.

Speaking to Austria’s Die ganze Woche magazine, she told of her embarrassment at finding so many photos of herself on the site when she joined, at the age of 14.

“They knew no shame or limits…

“Whether I was sitting on the potty or naked in my crib, my every step was recorded photographically  and, afterwards, made public.”

Reportedly, the case which will see the teen sue her parents for refusing to remove the photos and embarrassing her will begin in November 2016.

The father of the teen explained why he and his wife refused to delete the images.

“I see it as my right to publish these pictures…

“After all it’s our children and, for my wife and myself, it’s a nice family album that goes down well with our Facebook friends.”

The mortified teenager is going to court with a case that claims the refusal to delete the photos is a breach of her privacy and data protection rights.
