True to its name, the Butter London’s Spring 2013 collection does indeed look like its own sweetshop of sorts.
Sweetie Shop is inspired by the charming colours and silhouettes of the 50s-inspired femme fatale and the playful feminine shades are influenced by the soft pastels of cotton candy, milkshakes and macaroons.
The colours are sweet but chic, reminiscent of spring sunshine and all things sweet.
Quirkily named, it’s tough to pick a favourite colour as Cuppa, a toasted opaque tan crème, and Molly Coddled, an opaque lavender orchid crème are not in the least bit jarring alongside Fiver, an opaque icy mint, and Jasper, a brilliant sherbet yellow.

Sweetie Shop Jasper, an opaque bright pastel yellow créme.
Kerfuffle, an opaque pink coral, and Fruit Machine, an opaque punchy carnation crème, complete the coveted collection.
The perfect solution? Make like the nail gurus and alternate the colours for a popping fresh spring look.
“Pops of pastels are iconic for spring and look like candy on the nails,” says Katie Hughes, Global Colour Ambassador for butter LONDON.
“Long live colour” says butter.
We agree.
