The Restaurant Association Of Ireland has come under fire today for its decision to release a survey on aggressive begging just days after the death of a homeless man in Dublin.
The organisation revealed today that 58 per cent of people feel intimidated by people who look for money and beg on the street, with nine out of ten of the view that aggressive begging is having a negative impact on the attractiveness of Dublin City.
However, the timing of the release has been branded insensitive, coming just days after the body of homeless man John Corrie was discovered on a street in the city centre.
Bad timing on the issue of aggressive begging by #RAI surely as “beggars” are dying on our streets #newstalk
