Remember the guy who tore up his All-Ireland tickets in exchange for €2,000 for his club?
Well, John Dowling is back and now he’s showing us all just how much the money meant to his club Ardfert in Co Kerry.
Back on All-Ireland final day, John was given the ultimate choice – club or county – as Kerry prepared to go head-to-head with Donegal in the battle for the Sam Maguire. While many other supporters had been given the chance to win €2,000 for their club in exchange for their coveted Croker tickets, it was John who took the deal.
Now, the cameras have caught up with John and headed down to north Kerry to find out just exactly how much that choice has impacted on the club.
