A 36-year-old Irish man has been killed in a hit and run in Florida.
It's believed that Martin James O’Connor from Frenchpark in Co Roscommon was walking from a bar to his hotel when he was by a black BMW SUV in North Lauderdale.
According to The Irish Times, the incident took place just before 5am local time on Saturday morning and the car fled the scene after hitting Mr O'Connor.
The driver, Richard Jennings (35), was subsequently arrested at his home in Florida and is now facing criminal charges.
