Add us as a preferred source on Google »BPerfect Cosmetics and Roseanna Ruane have announced the total funds raised through sales of their limited-edition Saoírse & Mamma capsule, with an incredible €313,158 generated for two children’s cancer charities - surpassing the original fundraising target of €200,000.
The funds have been split equally between Hand in Hand Children’s Cancer Charity (Galway) and Cancer Fund for Children, with each charity receiving €156,579.
Every cent raised through the collection has gone directly towards supporting families facing the heartbreak of childhood cancer.
Saoírse Ruane captured the hearts of the nation when she first appeared on The Late Late Toy Show in 2020, bravely sharing her journey with osteosarcoma - a rare and aggressive bone cancer.
In March 2024, after a long and courageous battle, Saoírse sadly passed away. Since then, her mum Roseanna has continued to share their story with honesty and grace, opening up about her grief while finding strength in helping others walking a similar path.
“Everything that went into this collab is what Saoírse would have loved, and what she would have chosen herself,” said Roseanna. “Every shade was named after something that held meaning in her life.”
“When Roseanna and I first sat down to talk about how we could honour Saoírse, we never imagined it would become something this powerful”, said Brendan McDowell, founder of BPerfect Cosmetics.
“The response has been incredible. Every single person who bought a piece of this collection has helped to honour her memory and support families across Ireland.”
Bernadette McGarvey, Partnerships and Philanthropy Manager at Cancer Fund for Children, added: “We are so incredibly grateful to Brendan, the team at BPerfect Cosmetics and Roseanna for supporting our work to ensure no child faces cancer alone. This special collection, created in loving memory of Saoírse, honours her life while helping to create hope for other families, and the vital funds raised will make a real difference.”
In honour of Saoírse’s memory, and to raise funds and support other families dealing with childhood cancer, BPerfect Cosmetics and Roseanna Ruane collaborated to create the Saoírse & Mamma collection - a four-piece makeup capsule first launched on July 2nd at The Leinster Hotel, Dublin, to an overwhelming sell-out response and outpouring of public support, with a second drop in December also selling out. Each product was named after something meaningful in Saoírse’s life, with shades thoughtfully chosen to reflect her personality and spirit.
Speaking of the donation, Caroline O’Connor, Fundraising and Communications Manager for Hand in Hand, said: "As a small charity, we are incredibly grateful to BPerfect Cosmetics for this significant donation. At Hand in Hand Children's Cancer Charity, we provide practical and emotional support to families of children affected by childhood cancer in Ireland - helping with the ordinary while families face the extraordinary. From household cleaning, laundry services, family meal deliveries to emotional supports such as play therapy and counselling, we work behind the scenes to ease some of the pressure during the most challenging of times. This generous support will make a huge and immediate difference. It will allow us to extend our services to many more families, ensuring more parents can focus on what matters most- their child's health & wellbeing.”
