Ryan Tubridy has opened up about what he plans to do after he finishes up as the host of The Late Late Show host this May.

His last show will be Friday the 26th of May which is just days away from his 50th birthday.

Speaking on RTE Radio 1’s The Ryan Tubridy Show this morning, Tubridy revealed that he’d love to travel and see the world but has no definite plans yet.

According to the Irish Mirror he said: “I’m thinking of so many trips now. I’ve got my 50th around the corner so I’d like to do something nice.

“I’ve got a nice railway journey somewhere spectacular in my head. Not South Africa, not quite sure if it’s Canada, maybe even European would be fine.

“I don’t need to be going completely bonkers so we’ll see.”

The entire nation is wondering what special guests will appear on Ryan’s final Late Late show with many convinced it’ll be The Beatles member, Paul McCartney.

Over the years, Tubs has mentioned how much he loves The Beatles quite a few times so fans are hoping that he’ll get the chance to interview former band member McCartney.

Speaking about what’s coming up in the final few shows Ryan said that RTE have some big names lined up and that he’s really looking forward to the next couple of weeks.

We’re still in the dark about who will replace Tubs as host of the Late Late Show but there’s been plenty of speculation.

Claire Byrne remains the favourite to take over the role but there are other big names being thrown around including Doireann Garrihy, Baz Ashmawy, Jennifer Zamparelli and Angela Scanlon.

RTE bosses haven’t addressed any of the rumours so looks like we’ll just have to wait and see.
