A huge search is underway by police in the UK after a young girl was spotted alone, claiming to be lost.
Officers in the Hele, Exeter received reports that a girl around the age of six had knocked on the doors of someone's home claiming to be lost.
The homeowners said that the little girl told them she was lost before running away.
She has been described as having long blonde hair tied in pigtails and a skinny build. She was seen wearing a black coat.
A spokesperson in the police force said that their "primary objective" is to find and identify the girl and ensure she is safe.
They said: "Officers have been carrying out house-to-house enquiries in efforts to identify her and searches are ongoing to find her.
"The girl didn't present as being in distress or upset and was last seen running in the direction of Farm Foods at around 11 am."
If anyone recognises the girl or has any information that could help with the police search, they are asked to call 999 and quote log 227 of 5 April.
