Higher Education Minister Simon Harris and his wife Caoimhe are preparing to welcome their second child into the world.
The dad shared the news with his Instagram followers this afternoon.
Alongside a photo of a baby blanket and a toy rabbit, the dad wrote: "In the West on a short break and the last before Saoirse becomes a big sister!""Our new arrival is due soon", he revealed.
"Caoimhe and I are excited and looking forward to Saoirse having a little brother or sister," Harris added.
The family of three is currently enjoying a holiday in Co Mayo. "We really do live in such a beautiful country. Hope you are getting some time this weekend to enjoy it," Harris shared alongside a photo from his family holiday.
The couple welcomed their two-year-old daughter Saoirse into the world in 2019.
Harris admitted that becoming a dad changed his outlook on life. Shortly after Saoirse was born, he said parenthood "changes your perspective in so many ways."
"Everything I do I do wanting to make sure she grows up in a country that will care for her and all our children and give them every chance."
Congratulations to the couple on their wonderful news.
