Today, 20x20 and Lidl launched Chapter Four of their campaign. This one is titled ‘No Proving. Just Moving.’
So far, the campaign has encouraged women to get out, get active, and take part in the sports that they love. It has striven to get 20 percent more participation, media coverage, and attendance in women’s sport by the end of 2020 because, as they say, if she can’t see it, she can’t be it.
Fitting into the backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic, this video for the "No Proving. Just Moving' chapter shows a host of Irish women who are showcasing their involvement with physical activity through the lens of their own mobile phones.
‘No Proving. Just Moving’ is targeted to all women who are involved in physical activity, including those of us who are just starting our active journey and who are new to sport and exercise, as well as those who have been thinking about starting up their own physical exercise routines over the past few months. (Woo! You can do it!)
It can be difficult getting into exercise, especially if you don’t have a sporty past or a whole lot of knowledge on the subject. The new 20x20 campaign is here to build you up and remind you that you are doing this for yourself and that you do not need to prove yourself to anyone else.

The campaign seeks to showcase and remind you of the benefits of physical exercise and it highlights that being physically active is one of the biggest gifts that you can give yourself. ‘No Proving. Just Moving’ builds on the previous 20x20 chapters and calls on all women – regardless of age, ability, or sporting background – to create a new habit with physical activity.
They say that it takes 21 days to form a habit so 20x20 and Lidl aim to support all of you in your habit-building. For the first 20 days, 20x20 and Lidl will be there every step of the way on their dedicated online platform so that, come the 21st day, you’ll be ready to carry on your new habit for life.
To start building your habit, follow along on their online platform which will be launching
this July 7. The support campaign will be fronted by 20x20 and Lidl ambassador Sarah Rowe and it will also see 20x20 telling the stories of women across Ireland who have begun to form a habit of well-being. It will provide the support network needed to get that habit started for other women around Ireland and it will be the driving force helping them to change that internal dialogue of “I can’t do that” to “I’m going to give it a go”. Through Lidl’s online platform, it will be like a best friend, helping you each day on your journey.
Physical activity doesn’t necessarily have to come in the form of traditional sports teams or clubs – it’s often in the simple enjoyments of going for a walk, a jog, a swim in the sea, dancing with your family in the kitchen, or going for a cycle with friends. The easiest habits to build are the most enjoyable ones. So enjoy it.
