Some flights have been cancelled.

Passengers flying to and from Dublin Airport have been urged to check their flight status before departing.

Both Ryanair and Aer Lingus have said that they plan to operate full flight schedules throughout the storm today and tomorrow, but that some cancellations and delays may be inevitable.

A small number of flights have already been cancelled.

“Some cancellations have been confirmed for later today,” said Aer Lingus on Twitter.

“Please continue to check flight status before departing for the airport. Options for affected guests are available [on our website].”

They added yesterday that despite planning to operate a full schedule during the storm, delays and cancellations may be “unavoidable” on Thursday and Friday.

Ryanair has said that there is currently no expected storm disruption to their own flight schedule, however they ask passengers to check the status of their flight before travelling.

“Currently there is no expected weather related disruption to the flight schedule in and out of Ireland today,” they said, “however we do advise all passengers traveling to check the status of their flight before departing for the airport.”

A number of flights were diverted from Shannon Airport to Cork Airport this morning due to adverse weather conditions.

Cork Airport has also urged passengers travelling to check the status of their flight before making their way to the airport.

Meanwhile, Met Eireann has warned the public to stay away from coastal areas as it says Storm Lorenzo could endanger lives and property.

The storm, which will pass over the country this evening and during the night, is expected to bring severe conditions.

Four weather warnings have been issued ahead of the storm’s arrival.

A Status Yellow wind warning has been issued for the entire country until 6pm this evening.

There is a Status Yellow rainfall warning in place for Connacht, Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal until 6am tomorrow morning.

A Status Orange Wind Warning will be in effect for Galway, Mayo, Clare, Kerry and Limerick from 6pm this evening to 6am tomorrow.

And a Status Yellow wind warning for Wexford, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford will be in place from 6pm this evening to 6am tomorrow.
