A man arrested in connection with the theft of Michael Schumacher’s medical records has been found dead in his prison cell.

According to reports, the man worked for Rega air ambulance service and was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of “violation of professional secrecy” in relation to the Formula One star’s care.

Rega arranged Schumacher’s transfer in June from a hospital in France to a hospital in Switzerland and sources have said that nobody else is being sought in connection with the man’s death.

It was announced in June that “stolen documents and files” relating to the 45-year-old’s condition had been offered for sale online, with a spokesperson for the star stating that legal action would be taken if any of the information was made public.
