TD Paul Murphy is reportedly one of four people who have been arrested in connection with an anti-water protest last November which saw Joan Burton trapped in her car.
The Tánaiste was reportedly stuck inside her car for more than three hours at the protest in Tallaght and later had to be escorted out of the grounds by Gardaí.
Gardaí have confirmed that four men were arrested this morning and it was later reported that the Socialist Party TD was one of the four.
The men were arrested under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and can be questioned for 24 hours.
