A teenager girl has died after a theme park ride snapped in half mid-air.
The 19-year-old was riding the rotating flying saucer machine at the Istiklol theme park in in Jizzakh, Uzbekistan when the ride’s arm broke apart in motion.
The girl was killed as the rotating ride crashed towards the ground.
At least other seven people were injured in the incident.
East2West News reports that authorities have identified the girl by her initials, MH.
They have not yet confirmed how many others were injured in the accident, but local reports have suggested the number to be at least seven.
Footage obtained by the publication shows the moment the ride’s arm snapped in mid-air.
The video shows the end of the machine being propelled through the air, eventually coming to a stop. The clip finishes as the platform crashes to the ground.
The ride in question had been installed in the theme park early this year.
