The mother of tragic GAA star Adam Mangan joined his teammates to celebrate a big win

This is lovely.

This is just lovely.

Adam Mangan was a talented rugby and GAA player who tragically passed away in a farming accident last year in County Offaly.

Last weekend, his GAA team St Vincent’s were celebrating their third successive title win, as they beat rival club Edenderry.

Adam’s mother and brother Cathal were there to celebrate the win, and spoke to our JOE.ie bros about the sense of community that’s created in the GAA.

One of Adam’s teammates who wanted to remain anonymous spoke about the loss of their friend affecting the club deeply.

“We miss him so much, and the win last weekend wasn’t only a big achievement in the club, but one for our dear friend Adam. He is so deeply missed, and I know this story has the chance to uplift spirits. Especially those who have suffered grievances in the past.”

This is Adam’s brother Cathal lifting the cup with fellow teammate Karl Dunne, and the other image is Adam’s mother Janette surrounded by the players with the cup, celebrating.

As well as being a part of the 2013 and 2014 Offaly minor football panels, Adam played rugby for Tullamore and Leinster.

“I think this has real meaning, and heart, and shows the true meaning of the GAA… (how) one whole community can pull together, in search for one common goal, and to galvanise a community,” Adam’s team-mate added.
