If you didn’t register your house with Irish Water by yesterday’s deadline, one Dublin hotel has decided to reward you for your politics.
Charleville Lodge Hotel, Dublin are offering prospective customers €100 off their rate on check-in… once they produce their non-used Irish Water application form… in the shape of a paper airplane.
In a Facebook status posted last night, the hotel’s marketing department offered a unique discount to guests, writing:
“If you present your #IrishWater application form on check in at our hotel in the form of a paper airplane, we will give you a 50% discount on your room rate. Yes, I said 50%! So, if your bill comes to €200, you will get your €100 reward anyway!”
The response was mixed, with some punters annoyed at the tone, while others seemed genuinely devastated to have binned the letter, ‘missing out their chance to try some artistic work’.
While we’re not sure how officials might take it, it’s definitely one way to drum up some business.
We bet they were flooded with enquiries (we’re not even sorry…)
Hat tip to Jason Kidd for sending this our way!
