A must-watch.

A TV drama about murderer Ian Huntley and his partner Maxine Carr is in the works.

The show is currently being filmed in Dublin. The three-part series is set to follow Maxine Carr, who covered up for killer Huntley in 2002.

Carr was sentenced to three and a half years in prison for giving her partner a false alibi.

According to The Irish Sun, the cast has been spotted filming in Sallynoggin this week.

She has been dubbed “the most hated woman in Britain” because she covered up for her partner.

In 2002, Huntley killed schoolgirls Holly Marie Wells and Jessica Aimee Chapman.

The two girls were lured into the caretaker’s home on August 4th, 2002. He then murdered both girls and disposed of their bodies.

Their bodies weren’t found until August 17th, 2002. Holly and Jessica were only 10 years old at the time of their deaths.

In Maxine, the couple’s story will be told, 20 years after the murders. Scott Reid is set to star as killer Ian Huntley. Actress Jemma Carlton will play Maxine Carr.

Channel 5 is behind the production of the new drama series.

A source told The Irish Sun that the series will focus on Carr, as well as her relationship with Huntley.

“Why she lied for him and also how she became public enemy No1, as well as reflect the scale of the police investigation.”

“It will also feature the subsequent media frenzy around the biggest manhunt ever seen in British history.

“Maxine will examine the investigation of school assistant Maxine Carr and her caretaker fiancé Ian Huntley, who was later imprisoned for the double murder of schoolgirls Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, the tragic case that shocked the nation.”

A release date has yet to be announced.
