Twitter has announced a big change to its messaging service and some of its users aren’t exactly over the moon.
In the past, users of the social networking site had to follow each other in order to share direct messages.
However, it has now been confirmed that a new feature has been added which allows people to send DMs to any other account, whether they are connected or not.
The news was met with a mixed reception, with some concerned about their privacy being infringed upon but it has since been clarified that the feature is optional and anyone can opt-out of the new feature by unchecking a box in their Security and Privacy settings.
