Two Men Dead After Receiving “Worm-Infested Kidneys” In Transplant Operation

Solicitors representing two men who passed away after kidney transplant operations say the men received organs infested with a parasitic worm.  BBC News reports that the men received the kidneys from a single donor, who died of the same infection according to solicitors. The transplant operations were carried out at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff. An inquest is due to take place into the deaths of the men next week, almost one year after they passed away. The families of Robert Stuart and Darren Hughes, both from South Wales, say they hope to find answers when the inquest is heard at Cardiff coroner's court next Tuesday. Stuart was 67 at the time of his death while Hughes was 42.
