He’s quite the wordsmith it seems! Senator David Norris voiced his opinion in the debate about the possible abolition of the Seanad today accusing one TD of talking “through her fanny.”
Fine Gael were trying to kickstart their proposal on abolishing the Seanad in a colourful debate today but clearly some politicians weren’t having it.
Senator Norris accused Fine Gael's Regina Doherty of “talking though her fanny” this afternoon.
“The idea that somebody who’s over 20 years in this house should have to listen to someone who’s not a wet week in this house talking through her fanny, I seriously object to that” he said.
Norris also described Doherty’s comments about the Seanad as “the Regina monologues.”

Not only that, but Minister Richard Bruton was also compared to Hitler by Fianna Fáil TD Mary White.
Bruton claimed that abolishing the Seanad will save €20 million but White retorted saying that this was “like propaganda from Hitler.”
Senator Norris described a press release by Bruton as a "malignant and mendacious piece of tripe".
Meow! Looks like it’s been quite an eventful day in Irish politics.
UPDATE (09.05am): TD Regina Doherty is to make a formal complaint over David Norris' complaints that were made in the Seanad yesterday.
