An investigation has been launched.
Visa have announced that they are experiencing a “service disruption” that is preventing some transactions from being processed in Ireland and elsewhere in Europe.
The company have said they are investigating the source of the disruption.
According to The Independent, customers received messages telling them there was a ‘disruption’ that meant payment providers are unable to send or receive funds.
We are currently experiencing a service disruption which is preventing some Visa transactions in Europe from being processed. We are investigating the cause and working as quickly as possible to resolve the situation. We will keep you updated.

A spokesperson for the company said:
“Visa is currently experiencing a service disruption.
“This incident is preventing some Visa transactions in Europe from being processed.
“We are investigating the cause and working as quickly as possible to resolve the situation.”
