WATCH: Shocking Video Of Garda Allegedly Pepper-Spraying A Homeless Man In Dublin Has Gone Viral
A video of a Garda allegedly pepper-spraying a homeless man on Dublin’s Henry Street has gone viral on Facebook over the weekend.
In the clip uploaded by DIT student Philip Campion, a Garda is seen engaging with a homeless man, when he allegedly pepper sprays the homeless man before holding him down with his foot.
The clip has already been viewed more than 370,000 times since this morning.
In the description of the clip posted to his Facebook page, Philip wrote:
"This happened on my way home from college yesterday its absolutely outrageous behavior by a Garda on Henry Street Dublin.
"A poor homeless man was treated like an animal, when a Garda tried to arrest him he pushed him against the floor and pepper sprayed him right in the eyes when the poor man was clearly not making any sort of an attack or movement towards the Garda.
"He then stood there with his leg on the man as if the man was going to run somewhere. This is the sort of thing that really pisses me off."
According to the Irish Times, a Garda spokesman said they could not comment on the video as “its contents had yet to be verified”.
