An Taoiseach Enda Kenny has attracted criticism today after commenting on a protester’s nationality while canvassing in Galway.
The Fine Gael leader was approached by the campaigner while in the city last week, with the woman calling on the Government to make a u-turn on upcoming water charges.
Kenny responded by highlighting the woman’s English accent, saying “you’re not from Galway at all” while wagging a finger at her face.
The clip has since been met with anger online, with commentators slamming his reaction as “condescending” and “patronising”.
