Two window washers were left dangling from the 69th story of the new World Trade Centre today after their scaffolding collapsed.

The incident occurred at 12.45pm today when the scaffolding on which the men were working broke beneath them and left them dangling from the newly constructed skyscraper.

Luckily, both of the men were rescued by the Fire Department of New York after someone inside the building noticed the accident and called 911.

Neither worker, who have been named as Juan Lopez and Juan Lizama, was injured.

The One World Trade Centre or Freedom Tower was reopened earlier this month, thirteen years after the Twin Towers were felled in a terrorist attack on 9/11.
