Large portions of the incident were streamed live on social media.

A woman has been arrested after multiple Garda cars pursued her vehicle from Ballymun to Bray and back on Monday evening (1 March).

The incident began at 5.55pm when a car failed to stop for Gardaí, with the car making it as far as Wicklow before returning to Ballymun.

10 squad cars and eight Armed Support Unit vehicles were involved in the pursuit at various points this evening.

Footage from the car chase could be seen throughout the evening on social media, with it at one point seeming as though she threw a cannister out the window in direction of Gardaí.

She could also be heard singing in her car.

The driver of this car, a woman aged in her 20s, was later arrested for dangerous driving at Hampton Wood Drive in Ballymun at 6.50pm.

The woman was then taken to Ballymun Garda station.

She has since been released and will now appear before the Courts at a later date.

No injuries have been reported.
