Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
A woman in her 20s has sadly passed away after being involved in a three car collision in Co. Cavan this morning.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, with the crash occurring at around 5.20am at Derrygarra Lower, Butlersbridge.
Two other women, one in her 30s and the other in her 50s, were both taken to Cavan General Hospital and their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The road has since been closed for a technical examination and local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses, particularly any road users who may have camera footage, especially dash cam, to contact Cavan Garda Station on 049 436 8800, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
