Tralee natives Gearoid Clifford and Carrie-Anne Boland married in their home town today, with the reception to be held at Ballygarry Hotel. Both Gearoid and Carrie-Anne watched the first final on their respective hen and stag parties two weeks ago.
The football-mad couple decided to rejig the schedule for their big day when they found out the replay would clash with it. Extra large screens have been hauled into the hotel's bar to show the match.
The main meal will only be served after the match ends around 8pm but Carrie-Anne has made provisions to ensure tummies aren't rumbling.
"You know how it is people will have a few pints between the church and the reception and be starving hungry by six o clock, so as the food was now delayed they agreed to provide scones and nibbles for everyone when they arrive and then sandwiches at half time," she told the Irish Examiner. "If the match goes to extra time they'll have more sambos as the bell for the dinner won't sound until Conor Lane blows the final whistle."
Gearoid and Carrie-Anne are also hoping that if things go well for the Kingdom that the team might stop by their day-two celebrations tomorrow.
"I got word to them to bring the canister into Quanes pub in Blennerville for the after wedding party, Sam would be the most welcome of guests," said Geared.Explore more on these topics:
