How to watch Katie Taylor’s history making fight tonight

Katy Brennan

Katie is putting everything on the line tonight.

For the first time ever, female boxers will front the iconic New York Madison Square Garden in what’s being dubbed the biggest event in women’s boxing history.

Katie Taylor is putting all of her belts on the line against Puerto Rico’s seven-weight champion Amanda Serrano in what’s set to be an unforgettable night.

“You can feel the buzz around this fight,” the Bray native said. “I think I was born for fights like this and although it’s a huge responsibility, it’s an absolute privilege to be a part of such a huge occasion and I just can’t wait.”

Both fighters made weight at the weigh-in last night, with promoter Eddie Hearn telling the large crowds: “Forget women’s boxing, forget men’s boxing, this is one of the greatest fights of all-time between two of the greatest to ever lace them up.”

So, how can we tune in here in Ireland?

Time

The fight is expected to start around 3.30 am Irish time – so you’ll have to be up for a late night if you want to catch all the action live.

However the time could be a little bit before or after, depending on the length of the seven undercard fights that will take place before the main event.

How to watch

Streaming service DAZN will be exclusively showing the event and it can be watched on TV, tablet, smartphone to laptop.

A monthly subscription to DAZN can be purchased here for £7.99 (9.53) – and you can cancel any time.
