Fashion High Five – Add A Pop Of Colour To An Interview

Going for an interview soon?!

Cathy Donohue

Choosing  what to wear to an interview can be a difficult task.

A standard interview outfit is a black suit consisting of either skirt or trousers. However, there’s no harm in introducing a little colour, replace a white shirt with a printed one; a block coloured pencil skirt is always a smart choice and a bright blazer stamps a little personality on your outfit.

Your prospective employers will be eager to see what type of personality you have and what you wear can say a lot about you. With this in mind, we have put together a few options below.

€53, at River Island

Instead of a black dress, try a subtle print. We love this one from River Island, pair it with tan courts, neutral accessories and a black blazer for summer and just add black tights when the weather turns. It’s an elegant and stylish choice, sure to score points in an interview.

€16, at Warehouse

If you own an iPad and want to bring it along to show samples of your work or give examples of what you’re talking about, accessorising it with a colour is a good idea. It looks professional and again, it injects a little bit of personality into your look.

Michael Kors, €360 at Brown Thomas

Michael Kors is very popular of late and the Selma style is the type of bag that will go with everything plus the classic tan shade is ideal for an interview. If you’re a little shy about colour and want to keep your interview outfit simple, add this bag, bright shoes and you’re good to go!

€59.95, at Zara

A coloured or patterned jacket is the perfect finish to an interview outfit. Pair this with tailored trousers and loafers or depending on the type of job you are aiming for, style it with a pencil dress and heels. Just make sure they’re not too high as no one wants to have an embarrassing accident after a good interview.
