Her.ie Goes To London Fashion Week – Style Success

We can't wait to do it all over again!

Cathy Donohue

Our resident style obsessive, Cathy, has been dreaming of fashion week fun for quite some time.

This season, she decided Her.ie deserved a sneak peek of SS16 and here’s how she’s getting on.

My brief sojourn to London has come to an end and the main feeling is that I can’t wait to do LFW all over again.

Yesterday was another busy day with the Danielle Romeril SS16 presentation taking place at the Institute of Contemporary Arts.

The ICA is located at The Mall, just beside St James Park, a very scenic part of London.

Danielle’s SS16 offering was hotly anticipated by fashion’s most elite names and it didn’t disappoint.

Journalists, bloggers and photographers snapped photo after photo in an effort to convey Danielle’s vision for those sitting at home.

Pale pink, black and green were dominant throughout making for a strong colour palette.

The collection was sponsored by NEWGEN, an initiative run by Topshop and Danielle proved that she’s a worthy recipient of this scheme.

The #SS16 @danielle_romeril presentation is a go. Kudos for homegrown talent #LFW ???

This season, the London Fashion week changed from Somerset House to Brewer Street, Soho which is smack bang in the middle of the West End. Each day, crowds of fashion fans milled around hoping to get snapped by the many street style photographers.

We spotted some amazing ensembles, and interestingly most were from the high street, so keep an eye out for the video on site soon.

After that, it was time to attend a fashion film screening where we caught up with Zoe Jordan, who has just launched a capsule collection with River Island.

The 11 piece collection, inspired by the Deep Purple lyrics “smoke on the water, fire in the sky”, will be available to buy from today both in-store and online.

That brings our SS16 fashion week to a close and although we’re sad it’s over, we’re already looking forward to getting back next season.

There’s video content still to come so fashion fans should keep an eye over the coming days.
