Our resident style obsessive, Cathy, has been dreaming of fashion week fun for quite some time.
This season, she decided Her.ie deserved a sneak peek of SS16 and here’s how she went about it.
My fellow Her ladies can vouch for my love of fashion partly due to the fact that I’d remember what someone was wearing on a given day before thinking of anything else.
I get very excited for a new fashion season and pour over the shows religiously while talking about it to anyone who will listen.
Not content with sitting SS16 out, I started the application process not realising how much work is involved.
Before applying for any shows, you need accreditation from the British Fashion Council.
This means sending samples of your published work and circulation figures.
Once that’s approved, you can concentrate on contacting designers and their various PR teams, all of which are listed on the official London Fashion Week website.
This year is a significant one for LFW because it has moved from its home of six years, Somerset House, to the heart of Soho.
London Fashion Week 2015 is taking place at Brewer Street Car Park, an area chosen for its association with fashion and creativity.
I’m very excited for this trip for a couple of reasons.
Firstly, it’s my maiden LFW voyage, exciting for any fashion maven, and secondly, because I want to show just how successful Irish designers are across the pond.
