Her Trending – What’s Hot And What’s Really Not

Cathy Donohue

Trends change as quickly as Irish weather (and that’s a lot) so this new weekly feature is all about what’s in and what’s on the way out.

Team Her talk style, beauty, life hacks, topical subjects, urban dictionary additions and pretty much anything that’s trending.

This is what we’re chatting about this week.

SO OBSESSED WITH…

Parisian Pink Vibes

A couple of months back, we headed along to River Island’s autumn winter preview and one of the most-talked about pieces on the day was the below hot pink two-piece trouser suit.

It’s just so cool and if pink from head to toe is too much for you, then wearing the items as separates also works well.

The jacket is €101 and the trousers are €67, and you can purchase it from the second week in October.

‘Snow Globe’ Nails

We’re all about nail trends at the moment, between bubble shapes and snow globe styles, we want in.

‘Aquarium nails’ are set to be the next big thing and anything that includes Disney and glitter sounds like a winner to us.

Get the Glow

Yves Saint Laurent’s Blur Perfector is pretty pink perfection AND delivers results.

Any product that softens lines, blurs large pores, hides pigmentation and adds a dewy glow is one we want in our handbags for touch-ups on the go.

The €50 price tag is a little expensive but think of it as an investment for your beauty arsenal. That’s our line and we’re sticking to it.

SO OVER…

“Face jewellery”

Designer Akiko Shinzato is all about the face jewellery and hopes that it will act as a substitute for make-up and a means of changing your identity.

While the concept is an interesting one, we’re really not sure if it’s going to catch on anytime soon (and it looks rather painful too).

‘Heart Hair’

This new beauty trend has become every popular in Seoul, South Korea and Instagram is flooded with photos of girls trying out the new hair style.

It involves curling your fringe into a heart shape and applying a LOT of hair spray to keep it in place. It’s definitely a different look!
