These may look like ordinary stylish dresses from a distance but on closer inspection you may notice that they’re not made from material at all!
Designed by Scottish artist Alasdair Thomson, these dresses are in fact made completely from marble.
The romantic-style clothing has been expertly sculpted by Carrera marble and are carved copies from garments that were donated from family and friends.
Named “The Identity Collection”, the artist is “seeking to capture the characters of those he invited to donate, he surrendered the control of the content of the series by allowing others to submit garments of their choosing for him to carve. The results are simple and understated, as well as timeless and nostalgic”.
