After Oscar de la Renta passed away in October of last year, Peter Copping took the helm as creative director at the esteemed fashion house.
Copping had huge boots to fill but yesterday's collection shows that he is more than able for the task.
Staying true to the de la Renta aesthetic while still bringing something new, the Fall 2015 line included the fashion house's signature show-stopping gowns alongside chic separates.
In a handwritten letter addressed to each guest, Copping wrote: “In this, my first collection, I hope to honour Oscar’s legacy and also to start a new chapter for the house".
Deep pockets sewn into princess gowns and the inclusion of "a light duchess satin" instead of the usual taffeta were just some of the variations introduced this season around.
After the success of his first show, we can't wait to see what direction Copping takes as he settles into his new role.
