To mark the occasion, we continue our evolution of style series tracing the career of L'Wren Scott.
The fashion industry stood still when it was announced that renowned designer L'Wren Scott had passed away on March 17.
Her death came as a shock to many for the American designer was considered a great talent having shown at various fashion weeks.
She was the number one port of call for many celebrities including Nicole Kidman and Sarah Jessica Parker, when it came to choosing red carpet gowns.
Her first collection entitled 'Little Black Dress' had quite an impact and it wasn't long before she had an impressive following.
"I think L’Wren has an extraordinary ability to make dresses that genuinely flatter a woman”, said Sarah Jessica Parker of the designer.
49-year-old L’Wren had recently launched a collection with affordable American clothing line Banana Republic, making her designs accessible for all budgets.
In the days following her passing, much was made of the fact that she was the girlfriend of Rolling Stone’s frontman Mick Jagger with several news outlets describing her as ‘Mick Jagger’s girlfriend’.
The fact remains that, regardless of her personal life, L’Wren was a gifted designer who had achieved so very much.
She understood women and their foibles, qualms and insecurities which meant her designs were lauded and appreciated by many.
"If you don't feel good in it,don't wear it. Because it'll never look good. Any hesitation in the fitting room and walk away."
