Adorable dog finds his “happily ever after” after 7 years waiting for forever home

Katy Brennan

Such a good boy.

A dog who has been waiting seven years to find his forever home has finally had his dream come true, and met with his new family.

Pluto, a Pit Bull cross, was just six-weeks-old when he was brought to Dogs Trust.

Alongside a slide show of cute pics of Pluto, Dogs Trust said: “We have some BIG news that we’ve been SO excited to share with you all. Long-term lodger & fan favourite Pluto has found his forever family!

“Pluto has settled into his home, and we hope you’ll join us in wishing him and his new family many happy years together.”

Sandra Ruddell from Dogs Trust said: “We’re so thrilled for Pluto that he has found his happily ever after at last. He was a popular pup here and so many happy tears were shed when we waved him off.”

The charity explained that Pluto had once been adopted by a family before, but unfortunately had to come back when things didn’t work out.

His story has a happy ending, but it’s unfortunately not the case for a lot of dogs.

The charity said they have seen a big decline in the number of people adopting dogs over the past few months.

This year son far, just over 200 dogs have been rehomed, almost 100 less than the amount that would usually have been adopted at this point in the year.

Dogs Trust urge anyone who is wants to get a dog to consider adopting and all information on how to do so is available on their website.

For those who are not in a position to rescue a dog, there is the option to sponsor one instead.
