7 skin care wonders: beauty products I just can’t live without in my 30s

Melissa Carton

These are my top picks.

I’ve always been obsessed with skin care but even more so now that I’m in my 30s.

Over the last year I’ve invested some time (and money) into researching what products would be the best for my skin and while I’ve tried and tested quite a lot these are the seven that I always go back to.

CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser (RRP €15)

Step away from the makeup wipes!

While we’ve all gone to makeup wipes to get rid of our makeup after a night out they can actually cause your skin a lot of damage.

This is why I good liquid cleanser is a better option.

CeraVe is a product I’ve seen recommended by not only beauty gurus but skin specialists too and their Hydrating Cleanser has become one of my go-to products.

I use their green range as my skin is slightly oily but they also have a blue range for dry skin.

Dermalogica Multi Active Toner (RRP €18)

As toners go this is the best one that I’ve found.

It helps condition the skin and prepare for proper moisture absorption so that your creams and serums can perform better.

It also leaves your skin feeling really light and fresh which I love.

Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream Light (RRP €90)

I LOVE this moisturiser!

It’s probably the most expensive cream I’ve ever owned , but damn it works.

I know Charlotte is famous for her Airbrush makeup products but I honestly feels like I’m wearing a filter after I put this cream on.

It leaves my skin so hydrated it’s practically glowing. It’s amazing.

La Roche Posay Effaclar Serum (RRP €40)

Having a slightly oily complexion I wanted a serum that would reduce pore size and La Roche Posay’s Effaclar Serum does just that.

Formulated with glycolic acid, hyaluronic acid and micro-exfoliating lipo-hydroxy acid, this face serum for oily skin targets fine lines, reduces enlarged pores and visibly tightens skin.

Jade roller (€9.95 from Meaghers)

There’s been a lot of hype about Jade rollers the last while or so I decided to invest in one and I’m glad that I did.

Not only have I found it great for reducing dark circles below my eyes but it’s also handy for helping to rub in my lotions and potions without damaging my skin by dragging it too much.

Foreo UFO 2 (RRP €170)

The Foreo UFO 2 is skincare gone technical.

It’s perfect at-home LED ‘power-mask’ treatment (similar to those full face led masks you might have seen) and it works in just 90 seconds.

The Foreo UFO 2 has eight different LED lights which help with everything from reducing redness and puffiness to reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

It’s also small enough to fit into your makeup bag for travel.

Vichy Capital Soleil Hydrating Solar Protective Water (RRP €19)

Protection for the sun is so important, especially if you’re very fair like I am.

One reason I love the Vichy Capital Soleil is because unlike other sun screens that can be white and streaky, the Capital Soleil sprays on clears.

It also protects against the damage caused by computer screens and contains Hyaluronic Acid to plump
and keep skin deeply hydrated whilst shielding against the sun.
