It’s all about the chop.
We’re just a month and a half into 2023, and it seems the bob hairstyle is establishing itself as the go-to cut for the celebrity elite this year.
Emily Ratajkowski, Lizzo, Iris Law, and Ireland’s own Maura Higgins are among a cohort of stars who have already committed to the classic look by opting for a chop in the new year.
While many consider the bob haircut to be a bit risky, these A-listers are demonstrating the versatility of the look. Some (Maura Higgins, Lizzo) evoke the bob’s history with a classic styling, while others, like Iris Law, give it a Gen Z twist.
First up is Emily Ratajkowski, who opted for a jaw-length cut and short bangs, which she debuted at Marc Jacobs’ runway show in New York City.
At the Brit Awards, superstar Lizzo took to both the red carpet and the stage with a bob styled with flip ends, proving the timelessness of one of the 1960’s most popular looks.
Also at the Brit Awards was Iris Law, who brought dimension to her cut by tying back two of her front sections, framing her face. She later adorned the cropped look with a variety of kooky clips.
Maura Higgins’ bob isn’t dissimilar from Emrata’s, but the Love Island star went for a longer fringe when she debuted this sultry look at the premiere for Creed III in London this week.
While attending the Euphoria FYC at Paramount Theatre in December, Zendaya had a relaxed bob with a side-part adding volume to the look.
