Lucky for us, there are a growing number of skincare brands offering vegan-friendly products that are not only plant-based, but also cruelty-free. The terms are often used interchangeably, but it is important to keep in mind that just because a product is listed as organic or cruelty-free, it can still contain animal by-products such as beeswax or lanolin unless they clearly state otherwise. If a product is labelled as 'vegan' or 'vegan-friendly' it essentially means that this product does not contain any animal-derived ingredients, such as milk proteins, beeswax or lanolin.
