Clean and kind: 10 skincare brands that are vegan, sustainable and cruelty-free

vegan beauty brands

It’s fair to say veganism is no longer a fringe movement.

More and more of us are opting to seriously cut back – and even completely eliminate – animal products from our diets, and even overall lives.

And what this means, is that the demand for vegan everything is drastically increasing – including vegan skincare products.

Lucky for us, there are a growing number of skincare brands offering vegan-friendly products that are not only plant-based, but also cruelty-free. The terms are often used interchangeably, but it is important to keep in mind that just because a product is listed as organic or cruelty-free, it can still contain animal by-products such as beeswax or lanolin unless they clearly state otherwise.

If a product is labelled as ‘vegan’ or ‘vegan-friendly’ it essentially means that this product does not contain any animal-derived ingredients, such as milk proteins, beeswax or lanolin.

Keen to go vegan with your skincare? Here are some of our very favourite vegan skincare brands:

1. Summer Friday

The packaging is gorgeous, and the products really work – we simply can’t get enough of Summer Friday.
